Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC: Overall Features & Review

0

When Poco was introduced in 2018 as a sub-brand of Xiaomi, they weren’t sure it could be so independent and also stand out from its head brand Xiaomi. In 2020, it was announced that Poco operations will be as an independent body, away from Xiaomi brand, after its success.

With Poco independence and a bright start in 2018, the new above midyear 2020 release, Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC, is already a device expected to perform so well in sales. Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC is not yet officially released. It was initially released for pre-order in China and Europe, on September 8. The specs and features of the device is really impressive.

The Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC is a successor of the Poco X2, already released earlier this year. Its gigantic “POCO” branding is so obvious on the smartphone’s plastic back. Whatever reason that was for, is kind of unnecessary- in my opinion.

The device is impressive in specifications, with 6GB along with 64GB and 128GB storage as options. Also has a memory card slot for expandable storage. It is powered by Qualcomm SM7150-AC Snapdragon 732G Octa-core processor, and Android 10 operating system with MIUI 12.

Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC has 6.67-inches display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, and packs 120Hz refresh rate. About 120hz refresh rate, iPhone 12 is rumoured to not have this feature upgrade yet. Poco X3 NFC display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The various sensors on the device include- accelerometer, proximity, gyro, compass and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Its rear consist of four cameras- 64 MP (wide) + 8 MP (ultrawide) + 2 MP (macro) + 2 MP (depth) setup, with the other present features; Dual-LED flash, panorama, and HDR. The front camera is a 20MP wide resolution sensor.

Poco X3 NFC also has NFC (obviously), GPS, Radio, LTE connectivity, USB Type-c reversible connector and USB On-The-Go. The device is 9.4mm thick and weighs 215g. It’s got huge camera bump on the rear, and non-removable Li-Po 5160mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

The 5,160mAh is charged with a USB Type-C cable, and Xiaomi boasts two days straight of normal or regular usage. It can be fully charged in one hour, and a 30 minute charge would give about 60 percent of battery power. That is quite fast and can be advantageous in areas with less frequent power supply.

The Poco X3 NFC will be the first phone to use Qualcomm’s new processor, Snapdragon 732G processor, a more enhanced version of the 730G. But the phone has no 5G support. It has a decent sound quality with its stereo speakers. Also has 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC is on sale for $229; that is for the 64 GB Storage, with the 128GB of storage costing $269 on AliExpress. Though a slightly lower price (around $199) was used to launch this smartphone in Europe some days back, and might stay that way for a little while before the prices revert to its original. Looking at the specification of the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC, the price isn’t entire bad.

While reviews see the large POCO logo on the back as not very okay, other cons of this device would be on a preferential note. If you are not a fan of long phone display, then its 6.67-inch screen might be a turn off for you. While it doesn’t come with an OLED display screen, the resolution is still good enough to give equal effect or feel.

In general, this is a good mid-range phone that doesn’t seem very far away from what the best of the best would present in specifications. Maybe one or two setbacks, but that is always substituted with something good enough to fill any loopholes.
